1. Before your first use, emulsify your jar of Cream Pie using the birch wood spatula provided until it resembles a whipped butter. This will help distribute the caramel clay evenly throughout the product since it can settle when the product is setting during manufacturing.
2. Using clean, dry hands, apply 1-2 knuckles (measuring with the knuckles of your first finger) of your emulsified cleanser to a dry face.
3. Massage product into skin using circular motions for 30-60 seconds, focusing on creases and makeup areas. The longer you massage, the better the microfoliant works. You will not feel the exfoliation, unlike other harsh abrasive exfoliants. Don't worry, it's still doing it's job!
4. Grab a clean towel specifically dedicated to face-washing (I love my Magic Makeup Erasers!) and run under hot water until it is saturated. Gently squeeze excess water out, and lay towel over your face.
5. (optional) Steam your face for 15-30 seconds with yuor hot towel for extra deep pore cleansing. Remove Cream Pie from your face with towel using upward and outward motions to avoid tugging skin down.
For Acne Prone, Oily Skin Types: A few times a week, follow your Cream Pie cleansing ritual with an oil-soluble cleanser containing Salicylic Acid, or another chemical exfoliant containing Lactic or Glycolic Acid. Contine with your favorite toner, serums, and moisturizer, such as Healing Hemp Gel Cream. Always wear SPF during the day when using chemical exfoliants, as you are more prone to sunburn for up to 7 days after using them!
For Normal, Combo, and Dry Skin: A few times a week, follow your Cream Pie Cleansing Ritual with a water-soluble cleanser. My favorite contains Hylauronic Acid to help prevent dryness. Follow up with your favorite toner, serums, Humectant (such as Hyalauronic Acid or Snail Mucin- applied to damp skin), and Moisturizer, such as Healing Hemp Gel Cream.
